Dusa® tree sales still increasing: South Africa 2011

The South African Avocado industry is more and more relying on Dusa® as the nr 1 rootstock choice for both new developments as well as replanting of old orchards. More than 144 000 Dusa® trees were sold during 2011 in South Africa.

Dusa® sales at the Westfalia nursery, which had sole propagation rights to Dusa® for 8 years, slowly increased and to date, Westfalia nursery have sold more than 555 000 Dusa® trees. A second nursery was recently licenced to propagate Dusa® in South Africa. Due to popular demand, their license was increased and it is expected that South African Dusa® tree sales would reach 200 000 trees per year within the next 2-3 years.
