Westfalia has two high potential avocado fruit cultivars in its stable.
Gem® is a late season black-skin for which we are the worldwide (except USA) agent.
Carmen® is an early maturing Hass look-alike for which we are agents in Africa (except Morocco) and the Middle East.
You can find more information on all the cultivars under the relevant sections above.
Westfalia's avocado rootstock breeding and evaluation program has delivered the South African standard rootstock, Dusa®. Dusa has improved tolerance to Phytophthora root rot and salinity. In 2011 the millionth Dusa tree was sold, only 8 years after it was commercially available.
The next generation of avocado rootstocks are being rigorously tested, we will keep you updated on Westfalia Info of any new development in this area.
Honey Gold® is a mid-season cultivar with an apricot blush and unique flavour
Princess® is a late season cultivar with small to medium fruit with a crimson blush, deep yellow flesh and sweet flavour.
Shelly® is a mid-season mango that is shaped like an apple, with a good red blush.
