Gem^® outperforming Hass in the USA

Brokaw Nursery recently published trial data comparing Hass to Gem^®  planted on their ranch 'Faught', nestled between Santa Paula and Fillmore in California.  The consistency and productivity of Gem^® compared to Hass can clearly be seen from the data below. It is also worth mentioning that the Gem^® trees did not require girdling (whereas the Hass trees did) and they have never been pruned. While there is still some room between Gem^® trees to allow an increase in canopy volume, the Hass trees have reached their terminal size and have been pruned quite a bit over the past 2 years.
